WE ARE READY FOR ANOTHER HISTORY: ON HOLY FATHERS
"La santità dei santi padri" (The Sanctity of the Holy Fathers): my essay published today at the Italian journal Alfabeta2 takes on the paradox and the recalcitrance of Amelia Rosselli's place in literary history between a divided legacy of "holy fathers": Pier Paolo Pasolini and the neo-avant-garde. Antonio Loreto's recent study, "I Santi Padri di Amelia Rosselli" (The Holy Fathers of Amelia Rosselli), constituted the prompt. I'm pleased to publish this piece as part of a special forum curated by Andrea Cortellessa, and devoted to Rosselli's work, aptly named "Siamo pronti per un'altra storia" (We are ready for another history). It includes Cortellessa's "Variazioni Babelliche" (Babelic Variations) and Alfredo Nicotra's "Volo obliquo" (Oblique flight), a review of Laura Barile's new book.
